Background Information:The Harvard University Graduate School of Design Chinese Students and Scholars Association (HUGSD CSA) was established in 2001 and is the only official Chinese student organization at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. The association aims to promote exchange between the Harvard Graduate School of Design and China's urban planning, architecture, landscape, real estate, and technology sectors, facilitating the integration of academic achievements and industry experience between China and the United States.
The Harvard China Tour is an important activity for the faculty and students of the Harvard Graduate School of Design and other Harvard University schools. Over the past few years, it has served as a vital link between the Harvard Graduate School of Design and China. Every winter break, the association organizes faculty and students from Harvard University to visit China, where they tour government departments, top academic research institutions, real estate developers, as well as design and technology companies. The participants engage in in-depth exchanges with government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars, and renowned designers through various activities. On one hand, this helps students better understand the sustainable development prospects, current situation, and challenges faced by Chinese cities; on the other hand, it provides more channels for the Chinese government and enterprises to attract overseas talent.
The "2020 Harvard China Tour" series of events includes stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen.
