Background Information: The Chinese Students and Scholars Association of Harvard University Graduate School of Design was founded in 2001 and is the only official Chinese student organization of Harvard University Graduate School of Design. The association aims to promote the exchanges between Harvard University Graduate School of Design and the fields of Chinese cities, architecture, landscape, real estate, and technology, and to achieve the docking of academic achievements and industry experiences between China and the United States.

The Harvard China Tour activity is an important activity for the teachers and students of Harvard University Graduate School of Design and various colleges of Harvard University. In the past few years, it has played a role as a link between Harvard University Graduate School of Design and China. During each winter vacation, the association will organize professors and students from Harvard University to enter China, visit and inspect Chinese government departments, top academic research institutions, real estate developers, and design and technology enterprises on the spot, and conduct in-depth exchanges with relevant government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars, and well-known designers through various forms of activities. On the one hand, it helps students better understand the sustainable development prospects, current situation, and challenges of Chinese cities on the spot. On the other hand, it also provides more channels for Chinese governments and enterprises to attract overseas-educated talents.

The "2020 Harvard China Tour" series of activities include four locations: Beijing Station, Shanghai Station, Hangzhou Station, and Shenzhen Station.
