The Beijing Winter Olympics Exhibition Center located in the Shougang Park in Shijingshan, Beijing, made a stunning appearance recently. A variety of display means such as the ice skates used by representative athletes like Ye Qiaobo and Yang Yang, the vivid presentation of the Qing Dynasty Royal "Ice Play Picture", and the modular digital sand table comprehensively demonstrated the progress of the preparations for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics, telling the "Winter Olympics story" to all sectors of society. The design and production contractor of this center, Beijing Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. under Beijing State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd., after serving as the image design service supplier for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, once again fully presented the cultural charm by means of technology, continuing the Olympic relationship.

The Beijing Winter Olympics Exhibition Center is located at the southwest corner of the office area of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympics, with a total area of 3,300 square meters. It was rebuilt from the old factory buildings of Shougang. Under the premise of retaining the original architectural structure and some facilities of the old factory buildings, adhering to the concept of "Green Olympics", it made full use of the existing space and highly integrated modern display means with the protection of industrial remains.

The exhibition center has three floors and is divided into four exhibition halls. The first and second exhibition halls are on the first floor. Here, the four concepts of hosting the Olympics are fully demonstrated through physical objects, pictures, videos, and multimedia. The medals, ice skates and other physical objects obtained by representative athletes and sports teams such as Ye Qiaobo, Yang Yang, Han Xiaopeng, Wu Dajing and the Chinese Wheelchair Curling Team are particularly precious. They show the milestones of China's participation in the Winter Olympics and also tell the inspiring stories of athletes' hard work and progress on the field.

The first exhibition hall also takes advantage of the curved space environment of the original industrial relic "water tower" to display the "Ice Play Picture" of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty "activated" by digital imaging technology, vividly reproducing the ice drill games in the Qing Dynasty and showing the long history of ice and snow sports in our country. This "Ice Play Picture" also accompanied the "China House" to make an appearance at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, attracting the attention of many international eyes.

The main body of the second exhibition hall is the sand table of the overall planning of the Winter Olympics. The sand table combines lasers, lights, film and television, and lifting platforms. With a scale of 1:9000, it simulates the mountain and river topography, the regional terrain of the three competition areas and the prosperous scenes of relevant cities in Beijing and Hebei. Standing on the viewing platform, the overall situation of the geographical features, historical culture, traffic conditions and urban development of the Winter Olympics hosting locations can be seen at a glance. To facilitate the viewing of details, the modules of the three competition areas of the 2022 Winter Olympics can also be lifted and lowered separately and "delivered" to the visitors.

In the other exhibition halls, visitors can see the seven sub-events of the Beijing Winter Olympics through seven multifunctional LED column screens transformed from the supporting columns of industrial ruins. The exhibition center also has interactive experience areas for alpine skiing, ski jumping and bobsleigh events as well as an exhibition area of Winter Olympics history and culture.

According to the introduction, the core members of the design team of the exhibition center all served the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The person in charge of Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. recalled: "Our relationship with the Olympics began in 2007, and it has been 18 years so far." At that time, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. as a sponsor of the Beijing Olympic Bid Committee, cooperated with relevant departments to collect a large amount of information, produced visual simulation feature films for the Olympic bid, showed the charm of Beijing to the International Olympic Committee, and helped Beijing succeed in bidding for the Olympics with CG technology. In 2006, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. officially became the image design service supplier for the Beijing Olympics, becoming the first CG service supplier introduced in the history of the Olympics. At that time, more than 800 employees of the whole company participated in 135 Olympic-related projects, including not only the stunning digital scroll "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains" at the opening ceremony, the image on the "bowl mouth" behind Li Ning when he lit the torch, but also planning reports, city and venue displays, mascot promotions, sports displays, event rehearsals, network and activity displays, exhibition promotions, etc.

After that, in 2009, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. became the official digital imaging service supplier for the London Olympics, and it was also the only Chinese enterprise that sponsored the London Olympics. Under the creative and technical services of Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd., at the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, a 9-pixel-point handheld LED small screen was placed on each of the more than 70,000 seats in the "London Bowl", forming the largest LED screen on the earth, which became the best footnote for Chinese creativity to go to the world.

In 2014, just after serving the Nanjing Summer Youth Olympic Games, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. became the multimedia three-dimensional production supplier for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Bid Committee. The rapid development also made the capital chain of Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. extremely tight. In the same year, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. officially joined Beijing State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd., changing from a private enterprise to a mixed-ownership cultural and technological enterprise, and ushered in new development. The injection of capital by the state-owned assets management company not only enabled Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. to obtain the funds for continued development, but also won more opportunities in the market due to the change of identity with a strong endorsement, and was able to successively serve major projects such as the World Internet Conference, the Anji Long Scroll in the China Pavilion of the China International Import Expo, and provide technical support for the Beijing Winter Olympics Bid Delegation when making statements in Lausanne, Switzerland. In December 2017, Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Award, which is the highest award obtained by enterprises in the current industry, once again proving its competitiveness.

With the Winter Olympics entering the "Beijing Time", the Olympic relationship of Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd. is still continuing, and Beijing State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd. will also continue to write the history of providing comprehensive services for the Olympics due to the successive commissioning of Olympic venues such as the Ice Ribbon and the Ice Cube under its umbrella, as well as providing service guarantees for the opening and closing ceremony venues (the Bird's Nest).
